Sébastien Tremblay

Sébastien Tremblay is a Professor at Université Laval, Honorary Professor at Cardiff University, UK, and Director of the Co-DOT lab (
www.co-dot.ulaval.ca). He was recently appointed as Scientific Director of the Mixed Research Unit in Urban Sciences – a consortium of academic, industrial and government partners teaming up in a joint R&D initiative to create innovative and smart solutions to city emerging challenges. His program of research is concerned with human cognitive and affective behaviors when interacting with technologies. The main goal is to maximize human performance and well-being in a wide range of domains such as public safety, transportation and entertainment. Dr. Tremblay receives funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Fonds de Recherche of Quebec (FRQ), the industry (Thales, CAE and Ubisoft) and various other agencies. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology (1999) from Cardiff University and a postdoctoral fellowship from a partnership between Cardiff and Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA; now QinetiQ).
